Parivartini Ekadashi 2025 is one of the most important Ekadashi fasts dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is observed every year on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the Bhadrapada month. This vrat is believed to wash away sins and bring blessings from Lord Shri Hari Vishnu. As per tradition, the fast must be observed and concluded (Paran) with proper rituals to get its full benefits. This year, devotees are confused about the exact date, whether the Parivartini Ekadashi fast should be kept on September 2 or September 3.
The Ekadashi Tithi will commence on September 3, 2025, at 3:53 AM and conclude on September 4, 2025, at 4:21 AM. Based on the Udaya Tithi (sunrise calculation), the Parivartini Ekadashi fast is to be observed on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. The conclusion (Paran) of the Parivartini Ekadashi fast will be performed the next day, i.e., Thursday, September 4, 2025.
On Parivartini Ekadashi, worship and rituals are performed for Lord Vishnu in his Vamana incarnation and for Goddess Lakshmi. This sacred Ekadashi is popularly referred to as Parshva Ekadashi, Padma Ekadashi, or Jayanti Ekadashi. It holds great spiritual importance, as observing this fast brings the divine grace of Lord Vishnu and helps in the eradication of all sins. Along with this, observing the Ekadashi fast also grants fulfilment of desires.
